Dr Heidi Webster

A Paediatrician consultant specialising in child and adolescent developmental and behavioural issues since 2003, Dr Heidi Webster is a child-centred practitioner who works in a holistic manner with the child's best interests at the centre of her clinical care.

Dr Webster’s goals in working with children and families are to:

• Best understand the child’s individual predicaments  
• Take into account the influence of family, school, and broader community environments
• Facilitate meaningful early intervention
• Increase parents’ understanding and build their capacity to support their child
• Interface and communicate with the child’s allied health and education teams through written communication, case-conferencing and/or school visits
• Maximise the child’s potential and quality of life in all their environments.

Heidi has limited capacity to accept new patients for Developmental and Behavioural issues and does not accept referrals for new medical issues, due to having a large patient caseload of existing clients. New patient GP referrals will be triaged by Dr Webster to assess whether the client's needs are within her scope of practice and current capacity to assist.

Heidi has practiced in a public and private capacity on the Sunshine Coast since 2007, and established the Queensland Health Sunshine Coast Child Development Service. She has engaged in research with University of Sunshine Coast and Griffith University Psychology departments, and provided training and supervision to allied health and trainee doctors in the field of Developmental Paediatrics prior to moving into fulltime private consulting in her current practice at Coastal Developmental Paediatrics.
