Dr Andrew Dawson-Smith

Dr Dawson-Smith is a paediatrician who is specialised in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. He graduated from James Cook University in 2014 and has been working for Queensland Health since 2017. He moved to live on the Sunshine Coast with his growing family in 2025.

Andrew has a special interest in Autism, ADHD and FASD. He seeks to broadly explore a child’s developmental strengths and difficulties, to assist families in accessing early intervention and supports. He is trained in providing Autism Diagnostic Assessments (ADOS).

Andrew has a passion for teaching, and helping children and families better understand important aspects of their health. He enjoys working closely with families, GPs, allied health professionals and schools, to support each child’s wellbeing and flourishing.
